Tropical Storm Arlene

Since the beginning of June, 2005, Spanish Wells and the surrounding area got record amounts of rainfall.  As Tropical Storm Arlene passed through the Gulf of Mexico on the 9th and 10th of June, it seemed the additional rainfall was more than the area could absorb.  Streets were flooded, streams and lakes overflowed their boundaries, and now almost everyone can boast of having "waterfront property."  To navigate the golf course, a canoe would suit you better than a golf cart.  I spotted a family of ducks that were just loving it!  I guess that's where the expression "this weather's for the ducks" came from!  Below is a selection of photos taken on Saturday, June 11th, and after another significant downpour on Sunday, June 12th.
